3 Month Update

It's that time again! 3 months have already come and gone. Time, please slow down. Thank you very much :)

Height/Weight: We will update after our 4 month doctor's appointment.

Clothing Size:

Harrison is holding steady at 3 month clothing. Some clothes that are 0-3 are too snug and have been retired. He can also fit into 3-6 month cloths but they are still a little big. We have noticed that 3 month sleepers and pants are starting to become a little short. Long leg problems!

Favorites:
*Food- Harrison continues to love his milk. We did introduce formula in case he will need to use it at daycare. We didn't want him to need it and then refuse to eat it at daycare because he has never tried it. However, who was I kidding? It's Harrison. He devoured it! Kid loves to eat.

*BookHe is starting to get the hang of this "book" thing. He is definitely starting to look at pictures whenever we read a book. He seems to enjoy the book, My First Book of Colors, Each page is filled with color, great for a lil babe. Momma is just enjoying a more interested reading buddy :)

*Song- We have moved on to a new favorite Wiggles song, "Fruit Salad". At this point, Harrison's favorite songs are the ones Mom and Dad enjoy singing the most. However, if we continue to sing this so often, Harrison may say banana with an Australian accent!

*Toy- He loves loves loves his play mat! He is starting to grasp and enjoys reaching out for the starfish and clown fish. They have dangle objects that are easy to grab. It has been so much fun watching him interact with his toys! He is also enjoying a toy caterpillar that he got from Christmas. It's especially fun if it is dangling above him. (Notice a pattern??)

*Non-Toy Toy- Harrison is enjoying his hands and feet at the moment. His hands are quite delicious and can be typically found in Harrison's mouth. His feet are SO exciting to watch. They can move in all directions and kick at people! The best part, his favorite non-toy toys travel with him!

*Time of Day- Honestly, he is a happy baby throughout the day as long as he has slept and ate. If he is rested and his little tummy is full then he is quite a happy little guy. If he is hungry or tired, watch out. You will see the pouty lip come out!

*Things to Giggle At- Mom and Dad and the crazy sounds they make. He is already learning what a pair of weirdos he got stuck with ;)

Observations/Firsts/Milestones:

Harrison started purposefully grasping this month! Last month, he was slowly attempting to reach out towards things. However, he looked like a little drunk man. He was never even close to hitting his target. Not the case this month! He is reaching and grabbing. This happens mostly on his play mat. Two of the toys that dangle are extra long and have easy to grasp handles on the bottom. He has been grabbing these non-stop. It has been so fun watching him grow in this skill. First, he grabbed the star with one hand. Two days later, he grabbed the star with both hands. A day later, he had grabbed the star with both hands and was putting it into his mouth. We love watching him learn something new!

Look, Ma! Two hands!

Yummmmmy!

Harrison also began rolling from his back onto his side. We aren't quite rolling over but it's a step in that direction! He is still rocking tummy time and can hold his head really high. (However, he is not the biggest fan of it!) We're interested to see which way he will roll first: back to belly or belly to back.

This is fun for 5 minutes

Harrison started sleeping in his room throughout the night! We started this transitioning by having his Rock-N-Play in his room for naps. At night, he would still sleep in our room. One night, we had friends over and he went to bed in his room. We decided to see what would happen if he slept in his room. He slept for almost 6 hours straight! (At this point, 4 was the average). It seemed like Harrison was ready to sleep in his room. It was mucher harder on Mom ;) We are still working on sleeping in the crib. That will be a whole different story....

Harrison had family from all over come to his baptism! He did a fabulous job during his baptism. Well, it may have been due to the fact that he slept the whole time. He didn't even flinch or wake when the water and oil was put on his head.

This took us a solid 5 minutes...

Funny story from the baptism: Nick's family has a baptismal gown that has been handed down through the fmaily. Mom's biggest fear was that Harrison would have a blow out in the family's gown. We made sure to leave ample time for Harrison to need a diaper change before going to church. He had a fresh diaper and we headed to church. What did we notice once we took him out of his carseat? That's right, stains from a blowout. Oy vey! If Harrison has an important outfit on, he will have a blowout. Law of parenting ;)

Luckily the spots were easy to hide with our arms.
